Part 1

This blog is all about learning how to start a mail order business so lets begin shall we? First thing that you want to do is decide which market you are going to get into.

What are some of your favorite interests? What is something that you already know about? Start off by writing out the things that you are most interested in or the things that you have some experience with. I'm going to cover some other ways of coming up with ideas for your mail order business later but for now write down you favorites.

Now we are going to do a little research about the market that we have picked. So one of the first places I like to go to find out about the audience that we are trying to target is a website called this site is an excellent way for you to get all of the information on the different markets.

Type in your category, example: home business, baby clothes, golf, golf swing, work at home, car loan, credit card.

You will see a list of different people that have products that you can use to make a decision on whether or not you want to get into a market.

I highly recommend picking a market with a big universe which is what you will see on the data card. The data card is basically going to tell you everything you need to know about your potential mailing list.

Find a list of buyers so that way you know that when you launch your first mail order campaign these people will actually buy from your mailings.
